Senior Software Engineer, Flutter

This role can be performed remotely anywhere within the United States.

As a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Flutter, you'll craft a cutting-edge session replay and behavioral data platform, helping our customers decode user interactions in their mobile apps. Reporting to the Senior Director of Data Capture, you'll tackle complex low level technical challenges that require a deep understanding of Flutter internals, collaborating across teams to design clever solutions. Your deep Flutter expertise, combined with a passion for data privacy and performance, will be vital to excelling in this role and driving our platform's success.

In a typical day, you might:

  • Collaborate with iOS and Android developers to design and engineer Flutter support into core native SDKs

  • Reverse engineer and debug customer apps (with permission, of course!) to understand how their software functions on a fundamental level

  • Optimize performance to ensure low overhead on devices while maintaining high-fidelity session replay capabilities

  • Anticipate and develop support for new Flutter platform-specific features

  • Engage with Flutter customers to understand their needs and improve development workflows

Here's what we're looking for:

  • Experience with Flutter and Dart development in a professional setting

  • Experience building custom Flutter bridging and packages

  • Deep understanding of Impeller, Skia, and the Flutter rendering engine

  • Experience with C\C++\Rust or other systems languages

  • Experience with Java, Kotlin, Objective-C, Swift, and/or TypeScript

The impact you will have in 6 months:

  • You will have contributed to significant enhancements and greenfield opportunities in Fullstory's mobile SDKs, improving data capture capabilities and developer experience.

  • You will have contributed to improving our Flutter integration's performance and privacy aspects.

The impact you will have in 12 months:

  • You will lead the development of Flutter-specific session replay and auto-capture capabilities and improvements in Fullstory's mobile SDK.

  • You will have established yourself as a key contributor to the mobile team's strategy for supporting Flutter developers.

The base salary for this position ranges between $160,000 - $190,000 USD. Base salary will vary based on relevant experience, job-related skills and qualifications.
